This event will be convened through collaboration with the University of Agder (UiA) and the Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS).
Background
A new technology revolution, largely referred to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), is evolving at an exponential rate and is disrupting almost every industry across the world. Characterised by the emergence of digital systems, networked communications, machine learning and large-scale data analysis, as well as the increasing integration of these technologies into business and production processes, this requires the transformation of entire systems of production, management and governance. The goal will be to offer recommendations as well as calling for greater cooperation between developed countries and the African continent to address the challenges and opportunities the digital revolution presents.
