Mr Jithendra Maharaj holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree from the University of Kwazulu Natal. He also holds a Masters degree with specialisation in business administration (MBA) from Unisa and Open University Milton Keynes UK. He has served an academic and academic consultant to national and international business colleges. He has dealt with International Business and a plethora of business financial subjects in addition to project management modules at postgraduate level. His consulting in local government finance, compliance and operations where he has served National Treasury and the Western Cape Provincial Treasury on municipal finance improvement programmers and capacitation. His research has produced relevant conference papers dealing primarily with working capital finance and the administration thereof in municipalities within South Africa. His research into local government finance has culminated in his doctorate research proposal investigating the efficacy of government efforts to improve working capital finance and municipal fiscal capacities in improving infrastructure development and local business with relevance to international current practices in this field.
