Tori Nettelhorst Tveit is the director of International Cooperation Programme (ICP) at Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO). NHO is the main employer and business organisation in Norway. She holds a degree in languages and literature from Oslo University and Fudan University in Shanghai. After her studies she worked for United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) stationed in Malawi and Yemen. In 1996 she was employed as team leader for the East-Asian team in The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). The team worked with environmental cooperation, in partnership with private sector between Norway and China, Indonesia and Vietnam. In 2002 she left her position in Norad and started working in NHO where she established the NHO-ICP. The ICP is responsible for cooperation between NHO and NHO sister-organisations in selected countries in Asia and Africa, supported financially from Norad and MFA. The focus areas for the programme are Social Dialogue and Tripartism, Vocational training, Female Future Programme (promoting women for leadership and board position) and a partnership project between NHO and the employer’s organisations in China and East Africa. The partnership promotes responsible business among Chinese companies in Africa. The technical assistance to the ICP activities are supported by NHO employees and by NHO member companies.
