Mr. Eirik Melaaen is Director for Midstream and LNG in Norwegian Energy Partners with office in Oslo. His previous job was in Wärtsilä Gas Solutions where he had several positions (Senior Project Leader, Senior Technical Advisor, Business Development Manager, Product Owner etc.). In Wärtsilä he was involved in systems and projects for LNG carrier, FSRU (floating storage regasification unit), liquefaction, LNG terminals and small scale LNG, but also LNG infrastructure developments and LNG fuel-gas supply systems for propulsion of vessels. His focus has been concept and project developments including contract negotiations related to natural gas and LNG systems. This includes following up stakeholders as end users, charters, shipowners, contractors, vendors etc. located around the world. He has also background as a research engineer at SINTEF, post doc (CERN/Geneva) and consultant in energy systems (Norsk Energi). Eirik has a Ph.D. from The Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), Norway.
